Today was pretty eventful. The first part of the day was spent at school, where I had an exam, and two periods spent watching movies (the Last Samari and Madascar 2 in Spanish with English subtitles). When I got home I decided to take a nap, but just as I was dozing off I was awakened by my parents to start sanding the walls of my new room. I am getting moved into a new room so that my room can become a nursery, but before I can move into it it must be finished, meaning, we mudded the walls, sanded them so they were smoothe, and painted them a beautiful shade of blue called Pitter Patter. Tomorrow, Saturday, I'm going to wake up early and begin packing up my room and moving it into my new room.
There are attractions and drawbacks to this new room, and being a compulsive listmaker, I'm going to list them for you.
Attractions:
- its bigger
- I have a door with a lock
- the vent blows more air than any other vent in the house (this could also be bad, because I have 2 parakeets and I don't want them to get too cold)
- a new start with an already clean room
Drawbacks:
- only one window, as opposed to 2 in my current bedroom
- my room right now has been neglected for a while, and who knows what's hiding under the bed. And my parents have to come in here to move my shelving unit thing. So they get to see the big mess and I'll of course feel ashamed and have to hear about it later.
Because of the second drawback, I'm going to move my own bed tomorrow morning whilst my stepmother and her mom are out on their weekly flea market trip, and my father is at work. That way I can have under the bed clean before they get home, and it'll give me more space to move my stuff off of my shelf so it can be moved out.
Now that the room is painted and move-in ready, I'm looking forward to it more, as opposed to my being against it before. Not only does this give me a chance to go through my belongings and get rid of stuff I don't want/ need, so I can have a clean, organized room from the start, but also, since it's bigger, I'll have room for a desk as well. I'm going to begin looking through for sale ads, in thrift stores, etc. for a desk. What I really want is an old fashioned roll top desk to put right by my window.
As part of moving into my new room, like I said, I'm going to go throught a lot of stuff, including clothes. Hopefully, after I go through them, I'll be able to have a yard sale to get some money off of them. I'm going to save the money until right before the school year and then go shopping for back-to-school clothes. (CLMD [compulsive list making disorder] sets in) For my wardrobe, I'm hoping on getting not only basics like:
- darkwash bootcut jeans
- black jeans or slacks
- undergarmets
- t shirts
- 2 skirts
- 2 sweater sets
- 2 blouses
- 2 pair ballet flats (maybe)
- 1 pair tennis shoes
- 1 ski jacket
etc.
but I'm also hoping to get these specialty items:
- Pyramid Collection's burgundy velvet yule dress
- Pyramid Collection's blue crinkle blouse
- Del Sol's color changing nail polish (so expensive, though, at 10 dollars a bottle!!)
As you can see, this is a lot of expensive stuff, but I'll make it work, because I was born and raised a thrifty shopper who knows how to get good deals, and I'm hoping on getting a part time job this summer as well anyways.
For now, i'll bid you farewell, because it's late where I am and I have to get up early if I want to have time to clean my room before my parents get home. Ciao!!
